Sid and Nancy
I just want to let you know - I do not like cats. They are silent little creatures that pop up when you don't expect them. I love dogs. I grew up with a beautiful Dalmatian with the unfortunate name of Citty. So walking on a glorious Waiheke afternoon we came past the SPCA and made our first mistake: We walked in. A non specific bunch of fur and quiet meouws greeted us. There they were: Sid (black and white - Dalmatian:-) and his sister Nancy (licorice all sorts). Growing up with the instruction ...read more...
Seth
In 2002 my grandson Aaron decided he wanted a small dog. He was living on his own after a breakup with his wife so went to Mangere to just look and a small Jack Russel was there looking for a new home. Gandalf , aka Maomao
Last year we adopted Gandalf, who is now known as mao mao (due to his ability to let you know what he wants), In fact he chose us and is now king of the castle in our menagerie of pets, with rabbits a guinea pig, two fish, oh and harry the whistling tree frog!
He is white so we have to remember to slap the sunscreen on him regularly otherwise he will get sunburnt , Of course he fits in very well, with his throne, the teddy's portacot that he considers his bed, and always comes for kisses at ...read more...
Thanda
I volunteered at the Taupo SCPA for 3 years. While I was there a mother cat gave birth to a litter of three the day before her pregnancy was to be terminated. The following day the same mother cat adopted a litter of four orphans along side her own litter.
As the kittens got older they all got homes, all except one, a little girl who was always hanging upside down from the wire of her cage. She had been my favorite since she was born but I already had three other cats at home.
When she was ...read more...
