Polykatt
Hi my name is Polykatt, i know silly name for a boy eh! But there's a story to my name and im lucky to be able to share it with you all. I was found at the Polynesian Pools. I was only a couple of weeks old and feral at the time with all my bones showing through. I had lots of cuts and abrasions over me and was very sick. Dee found me and took me to the SPCA where they suggested I be put to sleep. My mum said 'no way, I'm going to look after him' and that's what she did. I needed a bath twice a ...read more...
Gwencat
Gwencat - She chose me!!! :)
SPCA -2009 - I came to the first window and all these beautiful cats were asleep and were definitely not interested in this human. As I walked along she followed me and contined to chat. Each time I moved along the window Gwencat folowed me and gave me her life story!! She had a lot to say and it really ...read more...
Charlie
Good evening
My name is Charlie and I am 12 years old and have no teeth. Last year I was surrendered to the Auckland SPCA. I don't know why, I always tried to be a good cat. They were kind to me there, but it wasn't home. Then in November last year, a lady came to meet me with her friend. She was nice, but she left. Three weeks ...read more...
Fritz
7 year old Niamh walked into the Newtown SPCA to find a kitten. She sat down next to Fritz and his brother Rusty. Fritz moved closer and quickly climbed onto Niamh's lap... The decision was made. Fritz had chosen Niamh to be his new owner! We have had a couple of scares though. A few weeks after we had taken him home he got terrible snuffles and spent 10 days at the SPCA hospital. Then in April 2010 Fritz was hit by a car and it was “touch and go” for a few days while the vet tried to decid ...read more...
Winston (Professor)
Having returned to live in NZ, after 18 years abroad, my dream was to have a cat. I had it in my head to get an older cat, perhaps one that was terminally ill or had suffered ill treatment, that I could love and cuddle until it died. I spent 3 hours at the Auckland SPCA on this particular sweltering hot Sunday afternoon in December 2009, looking at all the cats. Nothing was catching my eye...until I saw Winston. Or rather, he spotted me!! This tiny little ball of fur - black all over with ...read more...
